Iphone Active: The FTC recommends that developers of Apps to ...


The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) of the United States has today released a report that recommends how the owners of various mobile platforms can improve the information they provide to their clients on how to manage your data. Specifically, this report was addressed to giants like Amazon, Apple, RIM, Google and Microsoft, as well as application developers and advertisers.


The FTC recommends that developers of apps that will enhance your safety


The recommendations speak of such thorny issues as the need for parental permission to collect data from children under 13. The report is called "On the mobile privacy: building trust through transparency," and recommends that all players in this function to inform their customers. They should also ask and get answers consent before accessing sensitive information such as geolocation.


It further recommends that application developers must take additional steps to those imposed by the App Store. The report also calls for developers of mobile operating systems like iOS, Android or Windows, to include a section accessible so that users are aware of the data they are processing and sending the various applications they have installed.
